Description
Description
Clear, Red or Yellow Awlwood primer for sealing prepared bare timber before the compatible Awlwood gloss system.
What is included
Single-pack primer. Awlwood topcoat is sold separately.
Application
Brush or roller; colored primers can also be rubbed on with a staining cloth as directed.
Mixing and reduction
Do not thin. Use the selected clear or tinted primer and test the complete appearance on the actual timber.
Surface preparation
Remove old coatings and contamination; sand in the grain direction no finer than P120. Do not use alcohol-based cleaners or leave teak-cleaner residue.
Coats and coverage
One saturation coat, with excess colored primer wiped off; do not try to build a surface film.
Working and drying times
Plan to apply the first compatible gloss coat on the same day. Follow the overcoat window on the current regional product sheet and container label for the actual conditions.
Compatibility and limits
If the overcoat window is missed, the current primer sheet requires sanding back and repriming. Humidity is needed for curing; do not return unused product to the can.
