Porgy Vintage-Style Art Print by Mark Catesby

Modern reproduction of historic artwork. Newly printed to order; not an antique print.

A fine art reproduction of Mark Catesby’s The Porgy (Sparus chrysops), published in 1754. Its detailed scales, spiny dorsal fin, and warm antique paper tones complement coastal interiors and natural-history print collections.

Choose an unframed print or a black, white, or oak frame. Printed borders preserve the complete image.

Paper sizes available: 11.7 × 8.3 in, 15.7 × 11.8 in, and 19.7 × 15.7 in, each unframed or framed. Extra-large 27.6 × 19.7 in is available unframed only. All sizes are open edition.

Dimensions are approximate paper sizes in inches, including printed borders. Frame exterior dimensions are larger.

Print quality & finish

Professionally produced by theprintspace using fine art giclée printing, a high-resolution inkjet process suited to detailed art reproductions. Printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag, 308 gsm, 100% cotton: a substantial fine art paper with a soft matte finish and subtle texture. It brings out delicate linework, tonal gradations, and rich color without a glossy surface.

Choose a print-only version or a black-, white-, or oak-framed print. Printed borders keep the complete image visible. Archival-quality paper is designed for long-term display; protect your print from direct sunlight and moisture, and handle unframed artwork by its edges.
