Great Hogfish Vintage-Style Art Print by Mark Catesby

Modern reproduction of historic artwork. Newly printed to order; not an antique print.

Mark Catesby’s striking Great Hog-Fish illustration from The Natural History of Carolina, Florida, and the Bahama Islands (1754) studies the fish’s head, jaws, and intricate scales. This historic plate shows a partial fish specimen, with a separate fin detail, and makes a distinctive addition to a coastal art collection.

Print quality & finish

Professionally produced by theprintspace using fine art giclée printing, a high-resolution inkjet process suited to detailed art reproductions. Printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag, 308 gsm, 100% cotton: a substantial fine art paper with a soft matte finish and subtle texture. It brings out delicate linework, tonal gradations, and rich color without a glossy surface.

Choose a print-only version or a black-, white-, or oak-framed print. Printed borders keep the complete image visible. Archival-quality paper is designed for long-term display; protect your print from direct sunlight and moisture, and handle unframed artwork by its edges.
