Description
Description
A metal-free antifouling using nonmetallic biocides. Smart Solution is intended for prepared boat bottoms and can be used over compatible existing antifouling after the required cleaning and preparation.
Technical details
| Finish | Semi-gloss |
|---|---|
| Biocide type | Metal-free; copper-free |
| Recommended coats | 3 |
| Theoretical coverage | 267 sq. ft./gallon at 3.78 mils dry film thickness |
| VOC | 328 g/L |
Preparation and application
Apply only to clean, dry, correctly prepared surfaces. Confirm compatibility with the existing bottom paint and use the specified primer or barrier system for the hull material. Copper-bearing antifouling must never contact bare aluminum; use only a system specifically approved for that hull. Mix thoroughly and follow the current label for coat count, film thickness, thinning and launching. Theoretical coverage does not include application losses.

Cleaning the coated hull
Use the boat regularly or gently wipe growth with a soft rag as needed. Avoid brushing, aggressive scrubbing or excessive cleaning, which can remove the coating. For prepared aluminum hulls, the manufacturer recommends the specified Tuff Stuff epoxy-primer system for adhesion.
