Application and installation planning

Typhoon is a through-hull system with a modular service design. The transom and flush housings are different installations and must use their corresponding mounting templates.

What is included?

One Typhoon fixture with attached cable, retaining ring, washer, three mounting bolts, bonding lug and its fasteners, plus instructions, as listed in the Typhoon guide.

Common questions

Are both housings installed through the same hole?
No. Lumitec’s guide specifies a 3-inch opening for the transom housing and 3.625 inches for the flush housing. Only the flush version is intended for running-surface placement.

Do I need Poco for basic operation?
This model supports TTP switch control as well as compatible Poco digital control. Follow the exact model’s switching instructions; a Poco module is needed for the digital-control option.

Can I add a conventional third-party dimmer?
The exact manufacturer specification marks third-party dimmer compatibility as No. Use the supported control method for this model.

Manufacturer warranty

Lumitec states that products purchased from January 1, 2025 onward carry a five-year limited manufacturer warranty for the original purchaser. Earlier purchases retain their applicable original coverage. Keep proof of purchase and obtain a return authorization before a warranty return.
