Awlgrip Awlcraft 3000 Acrylic Urethane Topcoat Base

Awlcraft 3000 is a two-component acrylic urethane topcoat that provides a repairable, buffable high-gloss finish above the waterline.

What is included

Requires G3010 Awlcat No. 2 Spray Converter and an appropriate T0001, T0002, T0003 or T0005 spray reducer, all sold separately.

Application

Professional air-atomized spray application only.

Mixing and reduction

2 parts base to 1 part G3010 by volume. The current data sheet specifies 15–33% reducer according to application conditions and required viscosity; a 25% reduction gives 2:1:0.75 base:converter:reducer.

Surface preparation

Use a compatible, fully prepared primer such as 545 Epoxy Primer or the specified Quick Build system; finish-sand as directed with 320–400 grit.

Coats and coverage

The data sheet specifies 3 coats, approximately 35 microns dry per coat. Theoretical coverage of 741.5 sq ft per mixed, unthinned US gallon is per coat, before application losses—not a three-coat finished-area allowance.

Working and drying times

At 77°F: approximately 7-hour pot life, 24-hour tape-free/hard-dry time, 3 days to light service and 21 days to full cure. Recoat 30 minutes–24 hours; sand before recoating beyond 24 hours.

Compatibility and limits

Not for brushing, rolling or below-water service. Abrasive repair can change the apparent tone of some shades; follow the repair procedure and verify color on a test panel.

Sold as one container in the selected size unless the package description specifically states otherwise. Components shown as separate products are not included.

Safe handling

For professional use. Read the current container label and safety data sheet before opening or mixing. Use the specified ventilation, protective clothing, gloves, eye protection and respiratory protection for the product and application method. Keep solvent-containing materials away from ignition sources. Coating and additive instructions are product-specific.
