Quicksilver 8M0178521 is a gen i side-mount trim control, 8-pin, 15-foot harness for compatible Mercury / Mariner / Force applications.
Features and compatibility
- Traditional 8-pin mechanical side-mount control with a 15-foot harness, handle-mounted trim switch, built-in warning horn and leads for a front-mounted trim switch.
- For compatible Mercury/Mariner outboards with integral power trim and 1993-and-newer Force outboards 40 hp and above using Mercury-style cables with power trim.
- General control cable requirement: Gen I. The manufacturer specifies engine-specific cable and adapter exceptions for 2005-and-newer 8/9.9 and 15/20 FourStroke applications; verify the generation before ordering.
- Not for engines with counter-rotating lower units.
Confirm the complete engine model, existing control or sender, wiring connectors and applicable parts diagram before ordering. Follow the manufacturer instructions for installation and adjustment.
