Description

Product specifications

Manufacturer part number 206-E
Package size 11.31 gal
Container group E
Included Hardener only; resin sold separately

Hardener for WEST SYSTEM 105 Resin when a longer working period is needed. Suitable for bonding and barrier-coating work; this hardener is not intended for clear coating. Hardener only; resin and pumps are sold separately.

Technical data with 105 Resin

Resin-to-hardener ratio by volume 5:1
Pot life: 100 g in a cup at 72 F (22 C) 20-25 minutes
Working time: thin film at 72 F (22 C) 90-110 minutes
Cure to solid at 72 F (22 C) 10-15 hours
Minimum recommended temperature 60 F (16 C)

Pot life describes mixed epoxy held in a cup; thin-film working time describes epoxy spread over a surface. Cure-to-solid time is not a full-strength or return-to-service specification. Temperature and batch size affect the reaction.

Dispensing and preparation

Measure the resin and hardener at the specified ratio. Do not add extra hardener to speed curing. Prepare a sound, clean, dry and properly abraded surface for the substrate.

For recoating cured epoxy, follow the manufacturer's surface-preparation guidance, including removal of amine blush where applicable. Do not treat an epoxy coating as a substitute for the required exterior protective finish.

Match with 105-E Epoxy Resin. Select dispensing equipment calibrated for this hardener and container size.
