Why WEST SYSTEM?
WEST SYSTEM isn't simply a general-purpose epoxy with a marine label on the container. Its roots are in boatbuilding.
Brothers Meade, Joel, and Jan Gougeon founded Gougeon Brothers in Bay City, Michigan in 1969. Their work with lightweight wood/epoxy construction helped pioneer modern bonded boatbuilding methods, and the formulations they developed became the foundation of WEST SYSTEM.
That history still matters today. Boats live with moisture, vibration, flexing, temperature swings, repeated loading, and constant movement, so marine repair materials need to do more than simply stick two parts together.
WEST SYSTEM has grown into one of the best-known names in marine bonding, coating, laminating, fiberglass repair, composite construction, and structural repair.

WEST SYSTEM 105 Epoxy Resin & Hardeners
The foundation of the traditional WEST SYSTEM lineup is the 105 Epoxy Resin system.
WEST SYSTEM 105 Resin is combined with a compatible hardener chosen for the working temperature, desired cure speed, and project requirements.

WEST SYSTEM 105 Epoxy Resin
The WEST SYSTEM 105 Epoxy Resin is the base resin used throughout the traditional WEST SYSTEM system.
PartsDuck carries it in multiple container sizes for everything from smaller repairs to larger professional jobs.
When combined with the correct WEST SYSTEM hardener, 105 Resin can be used for:
- Fiberglass repair
- Wood bonding
- Structural laminating
- Barrier coating
- Hardware bonding
- Composite construction
- General marine repair
WEST SYSTEM 205 Fast Hardener
Need a faster cure?
The WEST SYSTEM 205 Fast Hardener is formulated for use with 105 Resin when a shorter working and cure period is appropriate.
According to WEST SYSTEM's current 105 System guidance, 205 Fast Hardener provides roughly 60–70 minutes of thin-film working time at 72°F and has a lower recommended minimum working temperature than 206 Slow Hardener.
That makes 205 a useful option for many cooler-weather jobs and projects where faster cure progression is helpful.
WEST SYSTEM 206 Slow Hardener
For warmer conditions or larger jobs, additional working time can be extremely valuable.
The WEST SYSTEM 206 Slow Hardener is designed to provide extended working and cure time with 105 Resin.
WEST SYSTEM lists roughly 90–110 minutes of thin-film working time at 72°F for the 105/206 combination.
That extra time can help when wetting out larger fiberglass areas, laminating multiple pieces, working in warmer temperatures, or handling more complicated bonding jobs.
WEST SYSTEM Repair Epoxies & Kits
Not every repair requires buying full-size resin, hardener, fillers, fiberglass, and tools separately.
WEST SYSTEM offers several packaged adhesives and repair kits for specific jobs and smaller projects.
Shop WEST SYSTEM Repair Epoxies & Kits →
WEST SYSTEM Six10 Thickened Epoxy Adhesive
One of the most convenient products in the line is the WEST SYSTEM Six10 Thickened Epoxy Adhesive.
Six10 comes in a self-metering cartridge and dispenses through a static mixer using a standard caulking gun.
That means you can dispense properly proportioned, pre-thickened epoxy without manually measuring resin and hardener for every small repair.
Six10 is useful for bonding and gap-filling on materials including fiberglass, wood, metal, and masonry.
Replacement WEST SYSTEM Six10 Static Mixers are also available separately.
WEST SYSTEM G/flex Epoxy
Some marine repairs need an epoxy that can tolerate more movement than a standard rigid system.
WEST SYSTEM G/flex is a toughened epoxy designed for structural bonding on materials including plastics, metals, fiberglass, glass, masonry, and difficult-to-bond woods.
G/flex is more flexible than standard epoxies while remaining much stiffer than an adhesive sealant, allowing properly prepared bonds to absorb stresses from expansion, contraction, shock, and vibration.
PartsDuck carries products including the WEST SYSTEM G/flex 655 Thickened Epoxy Adhesive.
We also carry the WEST SYSTEM G/flex Plastic Boat Repair Kit, which is designed around repairs to certain plastic boats and components.
Always verify substrate compatibility and follow WEST SYSTEM's surface-preparation guidance before bonding.
WEST SYSTEM Fiberglass Boat Repair Kits
Fiberglass damage is one of the most common reasons boat owners reach for epoxy.
The WEST SYSTEM 105-K Fiberglass Boat Repair Kit packages the materials needed for many smaller fiberglass repairs into one kit.
It includes premeasured 105 Resin and 205 Hardener packets, fiberglass fabric, adhesive and fairing fillers, and application supplies.
That makes it a practical option for localized repairs such as cracks, gouges, holes, damaged laminate, and other small fiberglass jobs.
WEST SYSTEM 101 Handy Repair Pack
For even smaller projects, the WEST SYSTEM 101 Handy Repair Pack is a compact kit for small bonding and coating repairs.
It's the kind of product that's useful to keep around the shop because small epoxy jobs tend to appear when you least expect them.
WEST SYSTEM Wood Rot Repair
Older boats often have another enemy: rot.
Stringers, trim, deck structures, and other wooden components can all suffer from long-term moisture intrusion.
PartsDuck carries WEST SYSTEM 690 Wood Rot Repair Epoxy, a product designed to consolidate weakened wood fibers in rot-damaged wood.
It is available in multiple kit sizes for projects ranging from smaller repairs to larger restoration work.
Epoxy is not a substitute for replacing structurally unsalvageable wood, and any rot repair should begin by identifying and correcting the source of moisture.
WEST SYSTEM Epoxy Fillers
One of the reasons the WEST SYSTEM approach is so versatile is that mixed resin and hardener can be modified with different fillers for different jobs.
Depending on the filler you choose, the epoxy can become a structural adhesive, gap-filling compound, filleting mixture, or fairing compound.

WEST SYSTEM 404 High-Density Adhesive Filler
The WEST SYSTEM 404 High-Density Adhesive Filler is designed for jobs where high-load bonding strength is the priority.
Typical uses include hardware bonding, structural fillets, high-load joints, and gap filling around fasteners and fittings.
WEST SYSTEM 407 Low-Density Fairing Filler
When you need to reshape or smooth a repaired surface, the WEST SYSTEM 407 Low-Density Fairing Filler creates a more easily sanded fairing compound.
It is useful for hull fairing, cosmetic laminate repair, surface transitions, and smoothing repaired fiberglass before finishing.
WEST SYSTEM 410 Microlight Fairing Filler
For larger fairing areas where sanding effort matters, PartsDuck also carries WEST SYSTEM 410 Microlight Fairing Filler.
410 Microlight was introduced by Gougeon Brothers in 1989 and remains part of the current WEST SYSTEM lineup. WEST SYSTEM describes it as a lightweight, easily worked filler especially suited to fairing larger areas.
WEST SYSTEM does not recommend 410 beneath dark paint or on surfaces subject to high temperatures, so always follow the manufacturer's application guidance.
WEST SYSTEM Fiberglass Cloth & Reinforcing Tape
Epoxy does the bonding, but fiberglass reinforcement gives many structural repairs their strength.
PartsDuck carries WEST SYSTEM Fiberglass Cloth & Reinforcing Tape for fiberglass repair and laminate construction.
The lineup includes woven fiberglass fabrics and biaxial reinforcement products.
Examples include:
Different fabrics have different weights, widths, and structural purposes, so the correct reinforcement depends on the repair and laminate schedule.
WEST SYSTEM Epoxy Pumps & Application Tools
Mix ratio matters with epoxy.
Too much resin or too much hardener does not make the epoxy stronger—it can prevent the system from curing correctly.
WEST SYSTEM has built a large part of its product ecosystem around making accurate mixing and application easier.
Shop WEST SYSTEM Epoxy Pumps & Application Tools →
PartsDuck carries:
- Metering pumps
- Mixing sticks
- Application syringes
- Spreaders
- Static mixers

- Epoxy dispensing accessories
For precision work, WEST SYSTEM 807 Epoxy Application Syringes make it easier to place mixed epoxy into tight areas or around hardware.
The WEST SYSTEM 804 Reusable Mixing Sticks are designed for mixing epoxy, incorporating fillers, and shaping fillets.
WEST SYSTEM Epoxy Additives & Pigments
WEST SYSTEM epoxy can also be modified for specific surface, appearance, and performance requirements.
PartsDuck carries a dedicated selection of WEST SYSTEM Epoxy Additives & Pigments.
Examples include:
These products aren't necessary for every DIY repair, but they show how far the WEST SYSTEM system can be tailored beyond basic bonding and filling.
WEST SYSTEM Vacuum Bagging Supplies
For more advanced composite work, PartsDuck also carries WEST SYSTEM Vacuum Bagging Supplies & Kits.
Vacuum bagging is used to consolidate composite laminates while they cure.
One example is WEST SYSTEM 879 Release Fabric / Peel Ply.
After cure, the release fabric is removed to expose a textured surface that can help prepare the laminate for subsequent bonding or finishing steps.
