Description

A two-part high-build epoxy primer for fiberglass blister prevention and repair and corrosion protection on prepared metals. The barrier system depends on achieving the specified dry-film thickness across the required coats.

Technical details

Mix ratio	1:1, Side A to Side C
Kit contents	Half-gallon kit: two quarts; two-gallon kit: two gallons
Induction	20–30 minutes
Finish	Matte
Recommended coats	2–4, depending on service
Theoretical coverage	140 sq. ft./gallon at 6 mils dry film thickness
VOC	444 g/L

System selection

Preparation, total dry-film thickness and the interval before applying the next coating determine system performance. Use the exact primer formulation and its compatible topcoat instructions. Water-based antifouling over Tuff Stuff requires the manufacturer’s dedicated procedure. A primer is not an antifouling finish.

Coating window

At 73°F (23°C), the technical sheet lists 3 hours minimum and 6 days maximum between primer coats, with a 24-hour maximum window for the specified solvent-based bottom paint. Confirm readiness and the exact system’s instructions before overcoating; water-based antifouling uses a different procedure.
