Description
Description
A copper-based hard modified-epoxy antifouling for prepared hulls in fresh and salt water. Sharkskin targets barnacles, weed and other marine fouling and can overcoat compatible existing antifoulants.
Technical details
| Finish | Semi-gloss |
|---|---|
| Cuprous oxide | 45.2% |
| VOC | 365 g/L |
| Theoretical coverage | 320 sq. ft./gallon at 3.1 mils dry film thickness |
Preparation and application
Apply only to clean, dry, correctly prepared surfaces. Confirm compatibility with the existing bottom paint and use the specified primer or barrier system for the hull material. Copper-bearing antifouling must never contact bare aluminum; use only a system specifically approved for that hull. Mix thoroughly and follow the current label for coat count, film thickness, thinning and launching. Theoretical coverage does not include application losses.

After hauling the boat
Once the painted boat has been launched and is hauled again, limit air exposure to 72 hours. The technical sheet recommends another coat before relaunching after longer air exposure because the exposed coating can lose antifouling effectiveness.
