Description

The Turning Point SpeedZone Max3 SZM3 is a 3-blade stainless steel propeller housing in the 4.75-inch and larger gearcase family. The manufacturer identifies this as its bass-boat series. Engine fitment requires the correct separate installation/hub kit; gearcase family or horsepower alone does not establish compatibility.

Sold as one propeller housing. The engine-specific hub/installation kit is required and sold separately. Choose the exact propeller from the dropdown. Each choice lists diameter x pitch, rotation and manufacturer part number; use the specification table below to compare.

Hub and engine compatibility

Start with the exact engine manufacturer, model, year, gearcase and shaft spline count in Prop Wizard. The following kit references are application-dependent choices, not a list of interchangeable hubs. Applications marked four-blade-only or OS-only require that specified prop design.

Engine application and fitment requirements Shop hub kit
15-spline Evinrude/Johnson large-gearcase V4, V6 and V8 applications listed in the chart, including specified non-G2 E-TEC and H.O. models. OMC Cobra 800 3.0–7.5 L, King Cobra 454/502/7.4–8.2 L (1990+) and Sea Drive 2.0–4.0 L. Excludes E-TEC G2; OMC SX uses the Volvo SX selection. Kit 502 — 11500200
15-spline Evinrude E-TEC G2: 140 hp with large gearcase and 150 H.O.–300 hp. Use Super Duty 711 on 200+ hp engines with stainless props. Kit 511 — 11501100
Super Duty for 15-spline Evinrude E-TEC G2 200+ hp engines using stainless props. Does not imply fitment to earlier non-G2 E-TEC gearcases. Kit 711 — 11701100
15-spline Honda BF115D (2011+), BF135/150 (2004+), BF200/225 (2002+), BF250 (2012+); Tohatsu BFT115 (2014–2020), BFT150/200/225/250. For 200+ hp engines with stainless props, the chart calls for Super Duty 708. Kit 508 — 11500800
Super Duty for listed 15-spline Honda and Tohatsu BFT applications using stainless props on 200+ hp engines. Check the exact model/year; do not substitute for a smaller Honda gearcase. Kit 708 — 11700800
15-spline large-gearcase Mercury/Mariner models listed in the manufacturer chart; MerCruiser Alpha One / Bravo One (1983+). For 200+ hp Bravo One drives with stainless props, use kit 701 instead. Excludes 19-spline HD shafts. Kit 501 — 11500100
Super Duty for listed 15-spline Mercury/Mariner 200+ hp stainless-prop applications and MerCruiser Bravo One 200+ hp with stainless props. Not the 19-spline Mercury fat-shaft kit. Check the exact drive in Prop Wizard. Kit 701 — 11700100
Sound-dampening hub for listed 15-spline Mercury/Mariner large-gearcase outboard applications. Match exact model/year in the manufacturer chart. Excludes 19-spline HD shafts. Kit 801F — 11800100

Choosing pitch and rotation

  1. Record the current prop part number, diameter, pitch and rotation.
  2. Check the engine maker’s recommended wide-open-throttle RPM range and record actual RPM and GPS speed with the normal passenger, fuel and gear load.
  3. Use Prop Wizard with the exact engine and boat details; do not select by horsepower alone.
  4. Confirm right-hand or left-hand rotation, particularly on twin-engine installations. Left-hand is not a substitute for right-hand.
  5. After installation, water-test under normal load and confirm operation within the engine maker’s RPM range.

Installation and package

Package: one propeller housing. Hub kit and engine-specific installation hardware are separate. Follow the installation-kit instructions and engine manual for washer order, shaft preparation, retaining hardware, torque and locking procedure. Check full rotation and trim-tab clearance before operation. Do not assume the old hub or hardware will fit the new prop.
