Description

Turning Point MasterGuard installation kit 505, manufacturer part number 11500500, adapts a compatible propeller housing to the specified engine/drive shaft. This is the hub/installation kit; a propeller housing is not included.

Application and exclusions

15-spline Nissan/Tohatsu listed 60C/70C, 70 (2002–2009), MFS75–140 (2021+), non-BFT 90–140 and 115 TLDI (2014+). Yamaha 4.25-inch 2-stroke 115–130 and 4-stroke 75/90/100 (2017+), 115; also listed larger Yamaha 150–250, V6 F300 (2009+) and sterndrives 3.0–7.4 L. Select the correct duty rating for stainless props; Yamaha Express Mach3 OS applications call for 805FT instead.

Applications above are summarized from the manufacturer’s 2025 selection chart. Use the current Prop Wizard and exact engine model/year, gearcase and spline count to confirm before ordering; an engine brand or horsepower match alone is insufficient.

Construction and warranty

MasterGuard uses a one-piece hub design with a polymer cushion and corrosion-resistant metal splines. Turning Point advertises a lifetime hub warranty; the 2025 chart limits the 500- and 700-series lifetime warranty to non-commercial use. Coverage is subject to the manufacturer’s terms and does not provide a lifetime warranty on a separately purchased propeller.

Installation checklist

  1. Confirm engine model, year, gearcase and spline count, then match the hub and prop housing in the manufacturer’s guide.
  2. Use the hardware specified for this kit and your engine. Included components and reused OEM hardware are application-specific; follow the kit’s instructions.
  3. Follow the engine manual for torque and locking hardware. Check propeller and trim-tab clearance before operation.
  4. After a prop strike, inspect the propeller, hub and drive before reuse; replace damaged parts.
