Description
Description
A water-based semi-hard ablative antifouling for prepared hulls. Monterey can be applied over compatible existing antifouling in sound condition and allows hauling without loss of antifouling performance.
Technical details
| Finish | Semi-gloss |
|---|---|
| Cuprous oxide | 54.67% |
| VOC | 78 g/L |
| Theoretical coverage | 320 sq. ft./gallon at the recommended film thickness |
Preparation and application
Apply only to clean, dry, correctly prepared surfaces. Confirm compatibility with the existing bottom paint and use the specified primer or barrier system for the hull material. Copper-bearing antifouling must never contact bare aluminum; use only a system specifically approved for that hull. Mix thoroughly and follow the current label for coat count, film thickness, thinning and launching. Theoretical coverage does not include application losses.

Thinning, cleanup and drying
Use water for cleanup. If the product label permits thinning, the technical sheet limits reduction to 10% water; do not substitute a solvent reducer. At 73°F (23°C), the pleasure-craft schedule gives a minimum of 12 hours before launching. Actual drying depends on the coating and application conditions.
