Description
The OEM Quicksilver 89981 water pump impeller is a replacement for selected vintage Mercury 3.9–9.8hp two-stroke outboards. Its flexible vanes circulate cooling water through the matching pump.
Application and identification
- Selected vintage Mercury 3.9–9.8hp two-stroke engines.
- Part number 89981; the Mercury parts diagram identifies a 0.456-inch inside diameter.
- Replacement impeller only.
Check the driveshaft fit
Similar-looking vintage impellers have different bore sizes. Match the engine serial number and original part number to the correct gearcase diagram before ordering. The 0.438-inch-bore 89980 impeller is a different part.
