Quicksilver 96148A8 is an OEM upper water pump repair kit for selected Mercury and Mariner outboards and MerCruiser sterndrives using the specified short-vane impeller configuration.
Outboard applications
Selected Mercury and Mariner models from the four-cylinder 65hp family through V6 applications. Confirm the exact pump assembly; horsepower alone does not establish fitment.

Included components
Impeller, plastic upper pump housing, face plate, gaskets, drive key, face seal, seal carrier and water-tube coupling.
The lower pump base is separate. This is an upper housing repair kit, not a complete upper-and-lower pump assembly. Confirm the drive serial number and any replacement gear-housing configuration before ordering.
