Selection and Application

For prepared interior or exterior wood, including teak. Do not apply a two-part varnish over Compass Clear.

Follow the product label and technical instructions for preparation, mixing, application conditions and overcoating intervals.

Application Reference

Coat schedule	Bare wood: 5–6 coats. Previously varnished surfaces: 3–4 coats.
Coverage / yield	Theoretical: 592.6 ft² per US gallon.
Dry film per coat	1.1 mils dry by brush
Touch Dry at 73°F (23°C)	2 hrs

Prepare bare or previously varnished wood using the applicable schedule. The bare-wood coat count differs from a maintenance recoat.

Coverage is per coat unless a filler thickness is stated. Theoretical figures exclude application losses; practical yield varies with surface, film build and method.

Drying figures are reference values at the stated temperature. Recoating, sanding and launch have separate requirements; follow the selected product label and coating-system schedule.
