Awlgrip Polyester Urethane Topcoat Base

Two-component polyester urethane finish for professionally painted topsides and superstructures above the waterline.

What is included

Awlgrip Topcoat color base in the selected size and color. The required converter and reducer are sold separately: G3010 Awlcat No. 2 for spray application, or H3002 Awlcat No. 3 for brush and roller application.

Factory-packed and mixed-to-order colors

This listing includes factory-packed colors and named colors mixed to order by the supplier. The part-number table identifies the supply type. Mixed-to-order availability is supplier fulfillment availability and does not mean the finished color is already mixed and ready to dispatch. Confirm timing with us before scheduling your painting project. A mixed color base does not include the separate converter or reducer.

Application

Spray, or brush and roller with the correct converter.

Mixing and reduction

Spray: 1 part color base to 1 part G3010 by volume. Brush/roller: 2 parts color base to 1 part H3002 by volume. Use the application-method-specific data sheet for reducer choice and addition.

Surface preparation

Apply over a properly prepared compatible Awlgrip primer. The spray data sheet specifies sanding the primed surface with 280–400 grit.

Working and drying times

For spray application at 77°F: approximately 7-hour pot life, 24 hours to tape-free/hard dry, 3 days to light service and 14 days to full cure. Recoat between 30 minutes and 24 hours; sand when the maximum interval is exceeded.

Compatibility and limits

Above-water use only. Do not polish conventional Awlgrip Topcoat as if it were Awlcraft. A physical color card and test panel should be used for final color selection.

Package and part numbers

Sold as one container in the selected size unless the package description specifically states otherwise. Components shown as separate products are not included.

Screen colors are approximate. Use the manufacturer's physical color reference and a test panel for final selection. Only verified, product-specific original color chips are displayed; other colors retain their written names.

Safe handling

For professional use. Read the current container label and safety data sheet before opening or mixing. Use the specified ventilation, protective clothing, gloves, eye protection and respiratory protection for the product and application method. Keep solvent-containing materials away from ignition sources. Coating and additive instructions are product-specific.
