Awlgrip Awlspar Premium Spar Varnish | M3131

M3131 traditional phenolic tung-oil spar varnish for marine brightwork, with a warm appearance and gloss finish.

What is included

Single-pack varnish; T0016 reducer is sold separately.

Application

Brush, roller or spray with method-specific reduction.

Mixing and reduction

For new bare wood, the initial sealer coat is reduced 1:1 with T0016. Later brush coats normally need no reduction, or up to 20% as directed. Spray reduction differs; follow the current sheet.

Surface preparation

Use clean, dry, sound timber with moisture below 14%. Remove failed old coatings and test sound old finishes for compatibility.

Coats and coverage

A stand-alone varnish system may require 7–10 coats depending on grain, film thickness and sanding. An Awlbrite finishing system has a separate schedule.

Compatibility and limits

Do not shake. Avoid application or cure below the stated temperature limit and do not treat a single coat as a complete protective system.

Sold as one container in the selected size unless the package description specifically states otherwise. Components shown as separate products are not included.

Safe handling

For professional use. Read the current container label and safety data sheet before opening or mixing. Use the specified ventilation, protective clothing, gloves, eye protection and respiratory protection for the product and application method. Keep solvent-containing materials away from ignition sources. Coating and additive instructions are product-specific.
