Description
Description
Two-component epoxy finish primer for prepared fiberglass, wood, aluminum and steel, above or below the waterline as part of the specified coating system.
What is included
D1001 Gray or D8001 White base requires D3001 converter. This listing supplies base only.
Application
Spray, brush or roller.
Mixing and reduction
1:1 base:D3001 by volume with 15 minutes induction. Spray: T0006 at 0–25%; brush/roller: T0031 at 5–10%, following the current data sheet.
Surface preparation
Seal and smooth properly prepared substrates and compatible fairing/primer coats before the finishing system.
Working and drying times
At 77°F: approximately 16-hour pot life, 2-hour touch dry and 6-hour hard dry. Follow the primer/topcoat-specific overcoat table; sand after the stated maximum interval.
Compatibility and limits
The primer is a component in a complete coating system, not a stand-alone finish or an antifouling paint.
